Lucknow, Oct 13 (IANS) Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar will walk out of Dasna jail in Ghaziabad on Monday as the certified copy of the Allahabad High Court order acquitting them in the murder of their teenage daughter Aarushi failed to reach the prison authorities on Friday.

The High Court had on Thursday acquitted the Talwars in the murder of Aarushi in 2008.

Prison officials said they had not received a copy of the High Court order and would initiate the release procedure after they get the copy. The copy of the verdict has first to be sent to the special CBI court in Ghaziabad, which had convicted them in 2013 and whose order was set aside and overruled by the Allahabad High Court.

After this, the certified copy will be sent to Dasna prison, setting off the procedure to release Nupur and Rajesh Talwar.

Local lawyer Satyaketu Singh, who contested the case at the CBI court in Ghaziabad, said the release of the Talwars was not possible on Friday as a certified copy of the judgement was needed.

Saturday and Sunday are holidays.

Aarushi, 14, and domestic help Hemraj were found murdered on May 16-17, 2008 in the Talwars’ Jalvayu Vihar house in Noida.
