Lucknow: In a shocking incident, Uttar Pradesh police today arrested a father for murdering his daughter in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science (SGPGI) area in the state capital on Sunday.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar said Martina Gupta (28) was found dead in her bedroom on Saturday morning with five bullets pumped in her body. Family of Martina claimed that the girl committed suicide.
Mr Kumar said mother of Martina in her written application to police said that her husband Rakesh Babu shot her daughter.
On the ground of application of Martina’s mother, police arrested Rakesh for murdering her daughter.
During interrogation, Rakesh confessed to his crime and said that he shot her daughter as she was refusing the offers for marriage, Mr Kumar said.
Police doubted the theory of suicide as five bullets penetrated her body. Even doctors, who performed post-mortem, said that all five bullets were fired from one direction and person committing suicide cannot do this.
