Chouhan’s luck has made him stay in power: Congress leader
By Sandeep Pauranik
Bhopal, Nov 28 (IANS) Shivraj Singh Chouhan is blessed with good fortune, or else it would be impossible for him to stay in power with such an “unexceptional performance” as a Chief Minister, Congress leader Ajay Singh said on Tuesday.
Talking to IANS here, the son of late Congress leader Arjun Singh and the Leader of Opposition in the state assembly, Singh said of the four Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief Ministers of Madhya Pradesh, who he had observed, the incumbent came third and that too because former CM Uma Bharti’s tenure was “too short”.
“The main thing about Chouhan is that he is very lucky. Other than that, he has done nothing on the basis of which he can be compared with the previous Chief Ministers of the state.
“Staying on the pitch for such a long time without any achievement can only be attributed to his good fortune,” he said.
He said the “dumper scam”, “sand mining scam”, and the “Vyapam scam” had caused even the masses to lose trust in the Chief Minister and that they had now “started realising the truth”.
On his policies, Singh said good policies called for efficient implementation as well.
“What is the point of the ‘Beti Padhao’ programme if women are still unsafe?” he said.
