IGNOU announce admissions to PhD, MPhil programmes

New Delhi: The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) today announced admissions to its Ph.D and M.Phil programmes for July 2018 session in regular mode.

 

 

A national-level entrance exam will be conducted on March 4 in selected examination centers across the country, Director of IGNOU Research Unit Prof. Kaustuva Barik said.

 

 

The last date to submit application form is Feburary 16 and the online portal for admission to the programmes will be operational from January 23.

 

IGNOU announces dates for MPhil, PhD entrance tests:

 

Applications are invited for – M.Phil in Sociology, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Translation Studies, Social Work, Commerce, Chemistry and Distance education.

 

 

PhD programmes have been offered in – Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Library and Information Science, Political Science, Public Administration, History, Gender and Development Studies, Women s Studies, Geography, Translation Studies, Statistics, Food & Nutritional Sciences, Environmental Studies, Geology, Management, Life Sciences, Commerce, Hindi, Distance Education, Nursing, Social Work, Physics, Chemistry and Biochemistry.

 

 

“PhD in Bio-chemistry, Physics, and Life Sciences disciplines would not have entrance exam and would be based on eligibility criteria available on the university’s website,” Barik said in a statement.

 

 

Those applying for M.Phil in Economics need not take the entrance exam but have to be eligible as per the criteria.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.

Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.

CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS

The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.

COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.

The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
