Ban on Smart watches during ICSE, ISC examinations
Kolkata: Students appearing for the ICSE and ISC examinations will not be allowed to wear smart and digital watches to exam halls from this year.
The Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has recently sent a circular to this effect to the principals of affiliated schools, Nabarun Dey, the general secretary of the Bengal chapter of the Association of Heads of ICSE Schools, told media persons today.
“The circular, issued by CISCE chief executive and secretary Gerry Arathoon, said the respective institutions should ensure that candidates from their schools do not carry digital watches during examinations. They are only allowed to wear analogue watches,” Dey said.

The move will ensure that candidates do not resort to unfair means while writing their exams, he said, adding that students will be apprised of the CISCE circular when they collect admit cards.
Welcoming the move, Sujoy Biswas, the principal of Ram Mohan Mission School, in the southern part of the city, said gadgets of any kind should not be allowed in the exam hall.
The ICSE exams for Class X are scheduled to begin on February 26 and end on March 28 whereas the ISC exams for Class XII have been slated between February 7 and April 2nd.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
