New Delhi, Feb 6 (IANS) The youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday staged a protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence demanding the dismissal of Health Minister Satyendar Jain.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) claimed on Monday that it had recovered documents related to property and bank transactions worth crores allegedly linked to Jain during searches on Sunday at the residences of a Registrar and a lawyer of the Delhi Dental Council in a bribery case.

Hundreds of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) activists gathered at Chandgi Ram Akhara in north Delhi and then marched towards Kejriwal’s residence where a heavy police deployment tried to stop them.

The police had to use water cannon to stop the workers who broke the police cordon.

The demonstration was led by Delhi BJP General Secretary Kuljeet Singh Chahal and BJYM chief Sunil Yadav.

Addressing the workers, Chahal said: “The stories of corruption coming out against Kejriwal government’s ministers are nothing new.

“But since financial documents of Jain have been recovered from a government official’s locker, the people of Delhi want to know the truth of the relation between him and the official,” Chahal said.

The CBI had carried out searches at the office and residences of Registrar Rishi Raj and advocate Pradeep Sharma, which led to the recovery of Rs 24 lakh in cash, nearly half a kilogram gold and also three property documents relating to Jain.

These include two sale deeds of land and a Power of Attorney for land at Karala village here.

The probe agency also recovered a bank deposit slip book containing counter foils detailing cheque deposits of around Rs two crore during 2011 in Jain’s name and companies wherein he was serving as Director, and in the name of his family members.

Besides, 41 cheque books in his name, his wife’s name and in the name of a private estate firm were also seized by the premier investigation agency.
