Jagdish Singh undergoes Winter Olympics training
Pyeongchang (South Korea), Feb 12 (IANS) Indian skier Jagdish Singh Rawat on Monday underwent training here for his upcoming 15 km cross-country event at the 2018 Winter Olympics here.
Rawat, a member of the Indian Army, will compete in the event on February 16 along with 43 other skiers.
“Today practice in Pyeongchang. Work hard for what you want because it won’t come to you without a fight,” Rawat said on social media.
“You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something,” the 26-year-old added.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”
Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
