Senior Television journalist beaten-up by eight passengers inside train
Mumbai: A local senior Television journalist was today allegedly attacked by around eight passengers inside moving train on the Western Railway line in Maharashtra state capital. Some railway police official informed media persons.
The Victim journalist was identified as Shudhir Shukla, who works for a Hindi news channel sustained some serious injuries during the attack that took place in between Mira Road and Andheri railway stations.
The officials of Government Railways Police (GRP) said, “A group of passengers standing on the foot-board of the local train, tried to stop Shukla from boarding the Andheri-bound train at Mira Road by saying that there was no space inside the train.”
The official further added, “However, Shukla managed to get inside the train, following which an argument broke out between him and those passengers,”
Soon, the group started assaulting him and even snatched his phone when he tried to click their pictures, he said.

Shukla, who sustained injuries in the incident, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
“Once his treatment gets over, we will initiate the process of identifying the accused and a very strong action will be taken against them,” Purshottam Karad, DCP of Western Railway GRP, said.
The process of registering a case in this connection was underway at the GRP unit in Andheri, he added.
Condemning the incident, the Mumbai Press Club said in a statement that it has informed the government and police authorities and sought the arrest of the attackers.
“These commuters are known for blocking others from travelling on trains in peak hours. The violence goes unchecked by the police despite repeated incidents,” the Press Club said.
Mumbai Crime Reporters’ Association also condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the accused.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story
The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.
In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).
The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.
The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.
Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.
In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.
The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
