DPS role out order for female students to wear Skin Colour Bras!
New Delhi In a shocking as well as shameful matter, one of the most well-known schools Delhi Public School (DPS) in New Delhi’s Rohini area has reportedly asked its female students to add an extremely strict dress code, which involves wearing 3 layers of clothing to avoid any distractions for the ‘other gender’ along with wearing skin colour bras.
After hearing this girl students of DPS Rohini were left in a state of shock on Thursday, as one of their teachers allegedly told them to make sure that they wear slips along with their bras. The students were also allegedly told to conceal their bras and wear only skin-coloured bras so that their undergarment is not visible.
After the weekly assembly, while the boys were asked to leave, girls from class 9-12 were requested to wait and were apparently also told to ensure that more buttons are stitched on their shirts so that skin is not visible at all even through the space in between the buttons.
A parent whose son studies in class 12 at DPS Rohini has confirmed to The Quint that such a diktat has indeed been issued allegedly by a teacher and a group of ex-students are trying to approach the concerned authorities requesting them to reconsider instructions regarding the dress code.
DPS ask female students to wear Skin Colour Bras in new dress code!:
An ex-student of DPS Rohini who passed out of school in 2016 admitted that instructions regarding dress code have been a part of the School Diary but imposing it on students is ridiculous.
Beside this girl students have to wear a white shirt and skirt in summers as their uniform. When asked whether a particular incident had resulted in the new diktat being issued by the school authorities, the parent whose son studies in class 12 admitted that ‘the principal is new to the school and has joined only two years ago so it doesn’t surprise me.’
An alumnus of DPS Rohini told The Quint that a dress code is in place even for the boys who are not allowed to wear coloured vests underneath their white shirts.
Here are some of instructions regarding dress code for students of DPS Rohini are as follow:
* Girls must wear the right length of the skirt. The skirt must fall on/till the knees.
* It is compulsory for all children to wear a white vest/under slip.
* The Quint is trying to contact the principal of DPS Rohini, Vibha Singh to get her reponse. We will update the story as and when we receive a response from the school.
Meanwhile few youngsters took to Facebook sharing their angst against ‘attempted’ moral policing by DPS Rohini, also terming it as another instance of body shaming.
