Proof That Love Will Indeed Make You Blind
Have you ever watched ‘Shrek’ or ‘the beauty and the beast’? Well, both the films are proof of Shakespeare’s famous phrase ‘love is blind’. Love as said is the best feeling in the world and teaches one to look beyond the imperfections. Sometimes, we often come across to people who are blindly in love with each other. They even start ignoring their partner’s faults and mistakes.
In a study, psychologists also proved that the phrase ‘love is blind’ is actually true. The scientists at University College London reported in a journal that romantic love suppresses neutral activity associated with critical social assessment of other people and negative emotions. When we get close to someone our brain reduces the need to assess their character and we only see the positives in them.
If we look more closely to these love relationships, we fill find that people in love are more attracted to the intelligence of their partner. They develop an idealized image of the person they are in love with. This idealized image creates an illusion and people start trusting their partners blindly. Their love actually makes them blind that they refuse to look at the negatives of the person they are in love with. Psychologists also say that sometimes people are not actually in love but only with the idea of being loved. People commit suicide after failing in love or many times to prove their love for someone. This idea of love, the need of being loved makes people blind. Hence, it can be said that in some cases ‘love is blind’.
