SRK all praise for choreographer Remo D’Souza (Movie Snippets)

Mumbai, Dec 24 (IANS) Superstar Shah Rukh Khan has thanked choreographer Remo D’Souza for creating “amazing” choreography for “Mera naam tu” in Anand L. Rai’s directorial “Zero”.

While promoting his film on the sets of StarPlus dance-based reality show “Dance Plus 4”, SRK took out a moment to compliment Remo, who is also one of the judges of the show.

Recalling his memories with the choreographer, with whom he also worked 21 years ago in “Pardes” movie’s hit song “Zara tasveer se tu”, the “Raees” actor said: “21 Years ago, on this very set when we were shooting for ‘Pardes’ ‘Zara tasveer se tu’ song, there was this guy who was wearing a blue jumpsuit and dancing behind me and I didn’t even know his name.

“Nobody knew that this boy will went on to become what he is today and Remo has achieved great heights of success because he believed in his craft and passion.”

Shah Rukh also said that Remo’s journey has been an inspirational story.

“If you work hard, you can also become like him. Right from that song to choreographing us in ‘Zero’, his kindness, goodness and hard work has paved the way for him to be where he is today. Remo uses the artistes personality amazingly in the choreography and I want to thank him for the way he has created ‘Mere naam tu’ song in ‘Zero’,” he said.

Also starring actresses Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, “Zero” hit the screens on December 21.

Vicky Kaushal to pay respect to martyrs of Uri attack in Lucknow

Ahead of the release of his film “Uri”, actor Vicky Kaushal has headed to Lucknow to pay homage to the martyrs of 2016 Uri attack.

“In Lucknow today to pay respects to the martyrs of Uri attack,” Vicky tweeted on Monday.

In September 18, 2016, terrorists from Pakistan attacked a military base in Uri in Jammu and Kashmir leaving 19 Indian soldiers dead. Eleven days later, the Indian Army retaliated with a series of surgical strikes on terrorist camps across the border.

Being organised by Amar Ujala, the event “Jai Hind, Jai Hind Ki Sena” will witness the star cast of the film paying tributes to the brave soldiers and their families.

The film directed by Aditya Dhar is based on the Uri attack of September 2016. It also features actress Yami Gautam in pivotal role.

Sonam Kapoor wishes father Anil a happy birthday

As veteran actor Anil Kapoor turns 62 on Monday, his daughter and actress Sonam Kapoor wrote a heartfelt note for him on social media.

“Happy birthday dad… this has been a momentous year for both of us. For the first time in 10 years of being in this industry I shared a frame with you and was your co-star. And you also had to see me get married.. all this was a complete roller coaster… hard and beautiful at the same time.

“I’m thankful for the teachings of love, progressive ideals and morals that have been a part of my upbringing , and each year I realise more and more what a gift that is in this day and age.. love you so much,” Sonam posted on Instagram along with a behind the shoot photograph from their upcoming film “Ek Ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga”.

Popular for mouthing his famous “jhakaas” dialogue in films and at events, Anil has delivered hits like “Mr. India”, “Taal”, “Biwi No. 1” and “Race”.

Apart from “Ek Ladki ko dekha toh aisa laga”, he will also be seen in “Takht” and “Total Dhamaal”.

Dr. Abhishek Verma Dedicates a Shelter in Memory of His Mother, Veena Verma, at KGMU; Inaugurated by Daughter Nicolle Verma

World-renowned business tycoon Dr. Abhishek Verma has supported Foodman Vishal Singh’s Hunger-Free World mission. In memory of his mother, Late Veena Verma, who was a 3 term Rajya Sabha MP.

Dr. Verma dedicated a state-of-the-art free permanent shelter for the attendants of patients at KGMU Medical University, Lucknow, under the aegis of Vijay Shree Foundation. His daughter, Nicolle Verma, inaugurated the shelter.

During the event, Foodman Vishal Singh honored Nicolle Verma by presenting her with a memento. Mrs. Nidhi Sharma and Avantika Yadav, associated with the organization, welcomed her with garlands. Following this, Nicolle Verma distributed essential items to the attendants and also handed out fruits. She became emotional remembering her grandmother on her birth anniversary.

On this occasion, she also inaugurated the “Veena Verma Sevalaya” in memory of her grandmother, Veena Verma, to serve the attendants. She expressed, “I feel proud that my family is engaged in nation-building as well as social service. Today, in collaboration with Vijay Shree Foundation founder Foodman Vishal Singh Ji, I feel immensely proud to dedicate this shelter for the poor, helpless, and needy attendants of patients battling serious illnesses like cancer. I am honored to be associated with the Hunger-Free World Mission for humanity.”

Inspired by the continuous humanitarian service provided by Vijay Shree Foundation over the past 17 years, Nicolle Verma donated 10 lakh rupees to support the cause. The purpose of this donation is to ensure that services continue for the needy attendants of patients suffering from severe illnesses in hospitals, as facilitated by Foodman Vishal Singh.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Abhishek Verma’s family has a legacy of public and philanthropic service. They are helping millions to carry forward the values and service work of their parents. On the occasion of his mother’s birth anniversary, Dr. Abhishek Verma dedicated this state-of-the-art permanent shelter at Lucknow Medical College to serve the attendants of patients through the Vijay Shree Foundation.

Supporting Foodman Vishal Singh’s Hunger-Free World mission, Dr. Abhishek Verma assured that he would continually support keeping this flame of humanity alive. He also promised to assist in providing medicines to the helpless patients.
