Lockdown extended till 3 May, no trains and Plane will run for next 19 days
PM Modi extended the lockdown till May 3. In this way, the lockdown of 19 days has increased further in view of the risk of corona virus in the country. After this announcement by PM Modi, till May 3 neither trains will run in the country nor domestic or international plane. Prior to this, PM Modi announced a 21-day lockdown on April 24, after which the rail and air operations were canceled.
Following PM Modi’s announcement of extending the Corona lockdown across the country by 3 May, the Civil Aviation Ministry said that all domestic and international aircraft operations would be suspended till 11.59 pm on 3 May. At the same time, according to the Railway Ministry, ‘All passenger train services of Indian Railways including Premium Train, Mail / Express Train, Passenger Train, Suburban Train, Kolkata Metro Rail, Konkan Railway etc. will be suspended till May 3’.
Earlier, the Ministry of Railways distributed curfew passes to all safety railway personnel across the country. A senior Railway Ministry official had said that curfew passes were being given to railway employees associated with safety for two days. In this, along with the identity card of the department with the safety and running staff, there would be a letter from the class one officer of the railway, so that they can get approval from the police in reaching the railway station for duty. A computerized database is being created based on the home address of the running staff such as assistant driver, driver, guard, TTE, TC, station manager, electrical-mechanical engineer etc.
The Rail Tourism and Catering Corporation (IRCTC) Tejas Express running between Lucknow to Delhi and Mahakal Express between Varanasi to Ujjain will remain canceled till May 3. Till now these trains were canceled till 30th April. IRCTC regional manager Ashwani Srivastava said that the decision on advance booking will be taken after two-four days. People who have booked tickets are being refunded.
The nationwide lockdown implemented to prevent the spread of the corona virus has been extended until 3 May. Making the announcement on Tuesday, Prime Minister Modi said that the lockdown has resulted in effective prevention of infection. The Prime Minister said in a 25-minute address to the nation that strict adherence to the lockdown will be ensured in the second phase and detailed guidelines will be issued on Wednesday to ensure that it does not spread to new areas.
