Due to this, there was a growing concern among people that such people may inadvertently infect many people. It was becoming the biggest concern for health experts and scientists around the world, but now there is a relief news about it. This is good news given by researchers from South Korea’s CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

Researchers have found in the latest study that patients who are coming back positive after being cured of corona virus are not contagious, ie they cannot spread corona virus in others. Apart from this, corona patients who have been cured due to antibodies made in the body cannot fall ill again.

Scientists conducted this study on 285 patients of Covid-19 who came positive in the corona virus test after recovering. The study found that these patients did not spread any kind of infection and the virus samples in their virus did not increase. This suggests that these patients were non-infectious or contained dead virus particles.

This report is a positive sign for countries where corona virus patients are recovering and they are moving towards opening a lockdown. This study from South Korea shows that people who have recovered from Covid-19 have no risk of spreading corona virus even after measures like social distancing have softened.

According to the study, health officials in South Korea will not consider the cured corona patients to be contagious even after repeated tests. A research last month stated that PCR tests of corona virus nucleic acid cannot differentiate between dead and live virus particles. Possibly because those researches are giving the wrong impression that the person coming positive again in the test remains contagious.

South Korea’s research can also be helpful in the ongoing debate on antibody tests. Experts believe that antibodies probably provide some level of protection against the virus, but they do not yet have any solid evidence nor do they know how long an immunity can remain in the body.
