Get upto 30% of discount on buying flats constructed by UP Housing and Development Board
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Housing and Development Board (UPHDB) has mooted a proposal to give discount upto 30% on its 1,400 units constructed at Awadh Vihar and Vrindavan Yojna. The proposal will be tabled at the board members meeting scheduled next month.
According to development board officials, UPHDB has 1,443 ready to move vacant flats in Awadh Vihar Yojna, Shaheed Path and Vrindavan Yojna near Telibagh are lying unsold even after being completed between the time period of 2016-17. As per development board records, both projects were completed at an estimated cost of Rs 850 crore.
A committee headed by UPHBD finance controller Dharmendra Verma is now preparing a detailed report for the proposal of lowering the flat prices which will be tabled at the board meeting to be conducted in the month of March.
UPHBD finance controller Dharmendra Verma said, “The flats are equipped with branded tiles, marble work and proper lighting and ventilation facility. We can surely say that these flats are much better than units provided by private developers. However due to less publicity, we are not finding much buyers. A proposal is being prepared to lower the flat rates.”
As per UPHBD officials, the flats are available under two categories- 1BHK and 2BHK. While, the cost for 1BHK is between Rs 16-22 lakhs. 2BHK flats are available at price of Rs 35-38 lakhs. In March 2019, housing development board gave a discount of 10% on its vacant flats under its several housing project. However, it could not gather much attention from the buyers.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story
The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.
In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).
The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.
The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.
Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.
In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.
The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
