Sydney murder: Prabha’s kin urge killer to come forward
Sydney: The family of the Indian IT consultant, who was stabbed to death in a Sydney street, on Thursday appealed to the killer to come forward, a media reported.
Prabha Arun Kumar (41), employed with Bengaluru-based technology firm MindTree, was attacked at Amos Street’s Parramatta Park in western Sydney on Saturday, as per reported.
Her husband Arun Kumar and brother Shankar Shetty have asked the public for help in finding the person who killed her.
“My wife was a most caring and dutiful soul… I know that we can’t bring her back but I want whoever killed my gorgeous wife to be brought to justice,” Arun said.
Shetty said his sister was a loving wife, mother, daughter and sibling, and was loved by many.
“I say this to the person who did this, you have taken my sister’s life, please step forward, get help and get your life back,” he said.
New South Wales (NSW) police said they were no closer to identifying a motive for the attack on Prabha Arun Kumar, but added that there was no evidence of sexual assault or robbery.
Detective Superintendent Mick Willing said detectives interviewed a number of witnesses and gathered a large amount of CCTV footage.
He said police did not know if the attack was targeted or random.
“What I can say is we have no information at all that would indicate it is racially motivated,” Willing said.
“We are considering all options at this point, we are not ruling anything in or out.”
On Wednesday evening, more than 300 people gathered at Parramatta Park to hold a vigil for Prabha.
Organiser Arunesh Seth addressed the crowd before a minute’s silence was held.
“We want to live in a non-violent society. We want to live in dignity,” Seth added.
