Hyundai Venue vs Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza vs Tata Nexon vs Kia Sonet: Get price comparison

Kia India launched the 2021 Sonet  at the beginning of this month. Apart from a handful of new features, the compact SUV has received a price hike as well. In April, we saw Hyundai Motor India increasing the prices of the Venue and Maruti Suzuki India doing something similar to the Vitara Brezza prices. However, Tata Motors is yet to raise the Nexon prices in the current financial year.

The 2021 Kia Sonet is priced between Rs 6,79,000 and Rs 13,25,000 (ex-showroom, India). While the Hyundai Venue is now available in the price range of Rs 6,92,100 to Rs 11,76,200 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza’s price now starts at Rs 7,51,500 and goes up to Rs 11,41,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Tata Nexon is offered in the price bracket of Rs 7,09,900 to Rs 12,79,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Kia Sonet gets three engine choices — Smartstream 1.2-litre petrol (83PS/115Nm), Smartstream 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol (120PS/172Nm) and 1.5-litre CRDi diesel (100PS/240Nm – WGT and 115PS/250Nm – VGT). The 1.2-litre petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed MT, while the 1.0-litre T-GDI petrol mill has 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT automatic options. The 1.5-litre CRDi diesel motor can be paired either with a 6-speed MT (WGT) or a 6-speed AT (VGT).

The Hyundai Venue shares its engine and transmission options with the Kia Sonet. There is a 1.2-litre Kappa petrol mill (83PS/114Nm) mated to a 5-speed MT. The 1.0-litre Kappa Turbo-GDI petrol motor (120PS/172Nm) has 6-speed MT, 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT automatic choices. The 1.5-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine (100PS/240Nm) is paired with a 6-speed MT.

At the heart of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is a K15B 1.5-litre petrol engine (105PS/138Nm). While a 5-speed MT is standard, there is also an option for a 4-speed AT. The Tata Nexon comes with a couple of engine options — Revotron 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol (120PS/170Nm) and Revotorq 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel (110PS/260Nm). Both the motors have 6-speed MT and 6-speed AMT options.

Improved version of Hyundai Creta launched in Indian market: Check it out here

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). This new variant is available in both petrol and diesel engine options and can be had either with a manual or an automatic transmission unit. To read more about the Creta Knight Edition, click here. In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
