Actor Jacqueline Fernandez donates in Pune Police Foundation, Local Police express their gratitude on twitter

Pune Police thanked Jacqueline Fernandez for her contribution towards Pune Police Foundation to help them fight Covid-19. The actress also took to social media to praise the Pune Police for their selfless work on the frontline. Jacqueline has been doing her bit to help people in their fight against the novel coronavirus pandemic. Through her foundation You Only Live Once (YOLO), she works with several NGOs to help people in need.

Pune Police thanked Jacqueline Fernandez on Twitter. The tweet read, “Pune Police thanks @Asli_Jacqueline for her generous contribution towards the Pune Police Foundation. Your kind gesture will go a long way for our team that continues to perform their duties on the frontline in this pandemic. #WeAreTogether (sic).”

Praising Pune Police for their selfless service, Jacqueline Fernandez wrote, “I salute @PuneCityPolice who have been tirelessly working on the frontline and contributing selflessly in our fight with Covid 19. We are in this together (sic).”

Jacqueline has recently launched her foundation You Only Live Once (YOLO) that works with several NGOs to help people in need. The organisation has undertaken the responsibility to feed 1 lakh people, stray animals and to donate masks and sanitizers to the Mumbai Police.

The actress says that it is her way of paying back to the society. Last year during the nationwide lockdown, she had joined hands with Action Against Hunger Foundation to help the villagers of Patharadi and Sakur villages in Maharashtra.

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.
