Yogi Government to provide financial aid and jobs for kin of dead who lost their lives during panchayat election duty

The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief to the families of government officials who were killed on election duty during the panchayat polls in the state. Moreover, he has also declared financial aid and jobs for the kin of these people.

Times Now’s Shehzad Poonawalla reports that in a recently conducted meeting, the Chief Minister has also directed his officials to follow a humanitarian approach while offering jobs to the kin of the deceased officials.

The UP government has also decided to create a special taskforce to take care of the children who lost their parents due to COVID-19.

Uttar Pradesh government extended financial aid to construction workers amid lockdown.

While addressing a press conference, UP CM Yogi Adityanath said, “The State government had decided to extend help to those people whose livelihood has been affected due to COVID-19. In this context, in the first phase, more than 11 lakh construction workers in the state have been provided Rs 1,000 each in their accounts.”

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.
