Royal Enfield 650cc to be launched in India soon: Read expected price and features

Published

on

Royal Enfield 650cc is expected to be launched soon in India.

While the company is yet to make any announcement about these upcoming models, we have spotted at least two models that will compete in the 650cc segment. Previously, we brought you a detailed article about the 650cc Cruiser. Now, we tell you everything we know about the 650cc Roadster.

Design

The styling cues on the Roadster model will include a round headlight at the front, split-style seats, round taillight, and a twin-sided exhaust setup. Unlike the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650, the exhaust setup on the Roadster model features a blacked-out look. The details about the instrument cluster are scarce, although we could see a semi-digital layout with Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation system. The motorcycle was seen with a flat-style handlebar and relatively neutral-set footpegs.

Hardware

The hardware on the 650cc Roadster model will be similar to the 650cc Cruiser. The suspension tasks on the motorcycle will be handled by upside-down front forks and twin-sided rear springs. The anchoring setup will include single disc brakes on both wheels while the safety net will include dual-channel ABS. The motorcycle will ride on alloy wheels that would be wrapped in tubeless tyres. Royal Enfield’s existing 650cc range uses wire-spoke units although alloy wheels are expected to be available via accessories soon.

Engine

We expect the complete 650cc range to feature similar specifications. The current 650cc range, which comprises of the Interceptor INT 650 and the Continental GT 650, uses a 648cc, air and oil-cooled, parallel-twin motor that delivers 47bhp of power and 52Nm of peak torque. We could see similar power and torque output numbers on the 650cc Roadster.

Expected Price and launch

The motorcycle should carry a price premium over the existing 650cc Royal Enfield models. We expect the Roadster to arrive in the Rs 3.40-3.60 lakh (ex-showroom) price range. The company is yet to make a launch announcement although we expect the Roadster to arrive in 2022.
