Amid decreasing Covid-19 cases in the state, Yogi Adityanath led government on Sunday issued a new set of guidelines for Uttar Pradesh.
As per the new guidelines, there will be no change in night curfew and weekend lockdown in all the districts of the state. There will be no implementations in the lockdown in the districts having more than 600 active corona cases.

The shops will be allowed to open only 5 days a week and there will also be no change in the night curfew. According to the government officials, there will no relaxation in any district having more than 600 active corona cases. In view of the increased cases of corona in 20 cities including Lucknow, Moradabad, Meerut, no relaxation will be available at the moment.

Shops in Uttar Pradesh will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm except in the Containment Zones.

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.
