Yogi Government targets to inoculate over one crore people in June: Read here

Embarking upon a massive vaccination drive, Yogi Adityanath Government has targetted to inoculate over one crore people against COVID-19 in the month of June starting Tuesday, referring to it as ‘Mission June’.

CM Yogi’s massive ambitious target to intensify vaccination, arguably the biggest vaccination drive across the globe, will be conducted in all 75 districts of the state to safeguard its people from the raging wave of COVID-19.

While the preparations are underway at war-footing, CM Yogi has also instructed the officials to ensure that all the sections of the society are jabbed in a hassle-free manner.

“Our goal is to give shots to one crore people in the month of June. We have a sufficient amount of vaccine vials available to meet our target,” said the Chief Minister while addressing a high-level meeting. He also instructed the health officials to stay in constant touch with the Centre and vaccine manufacturing companies.

In regard to the largest vaccination drive, the Yogi Government has chalked out a detailed plan to vaccinate more than one crore of its people. The campaign will focus on beneficiaries of both the age groups; 18+ as well as 45+.

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.
