New Skoda Kushaq gets more than 2,000 bookings till now
Skoda Auto had launched the new Kushaq in India on June 28. The bookings for the mid-size SUV had opened on the same day via the automaker’s website and 100+ sales touchpoints across 85 cities. The Skoda Kushaq has reportedly garnered more than 2,000 bookings till now.
The Skoda Kushaq is the maiden vehicle to be introduced under Volkswagen Group’s India 2.0 project, which is being spearheaded by Skoda Auto. The vehicle is based on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN variant of Volkswagen Group’s MQB-AO platform.
The new Kushaq gets a couple of engine options — 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre, TSI petrol (115PS of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque) and 4-cylinder, 1.5-litre, TSI petrol (150PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque). While the 1.0-litre mill can be paired either with a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT torque converter, the 1.5-litre motor has 6-speed MT and 7-speed DSG automatic choices.
The mid-size SUV is available in three variants — Active, Ambition and Style. Below are variant-wise Skoda Kushaq (ex-showroom, India).
Active 1.0 TSI MT – Rs 10.50 lakh
Ambition 1.0 TSI MT – Rs 12.80 lakh
Ambition 1.0 TSI AT – Rs 14.20 lakh
Style 1.0 TSI MT – Rs 14.60 lakh
Style 1.0 TSI AT – Rs 15.80 lakh
Style 1.5 TSI MT – Rs 16.20 lakh
Style 1.5 TSI DSG – Rs 17.60 lakh
According to a report by Autocar India, the Kushaq has already bagged over 2,000 bookings. The Ambition 1.0 TSI AT variant has received nearly 40 per cent of all the orders in favour of the Kushaq 1.0 TSI. The report also claimed that Carbon Steel is the most preferred colour option among the customers, followed by Candy White and Honey Orange.
Skoda Auto will start delivering the Kushaq from July 12. Initially, the deliveries of the 1.0 TSI variants will begin. The deliveries of the 1.5 TSI variants will commence in early August.

The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –
