Jaguar Land Rover launches new version of Discovery: See price and features

Jaguar Land Rover India today launched the new Land Rover Discovery in the country at a starting price of Rs 88.06 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The 2021 Discovery not only comes with updated exteriors and interiors but also new straight-six Ingenium petrol and diesel engines.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery gets new signature LED headlights with DRLs and LED taillights. The front and rear bumpers have been redesigned. The LED taillights are joined by a new Gloss Black panel with the DISCOVERY moniker prominently placed on it. Overall, the SUV looks quite butch and is sure to offer an impressive road presence.

The cabin of the new Discovery features a redesigned centre console with a new 11.4-inch full HD touchscreen, which is nearly 48 per cent larger than the one found in the outgoing model. There is a new 12.3-inch interactive driver display, which can be configured to show a pair of conventional dials, full-screen 3D navigation guidance or a combination of the two. The SUV is equipped with Land Rover’s Pivi Pro infotainment and SOTA technology. It also gets cabin air ionisation with PM2.5 air filtration technology and Land Rover’s Click and Go tablet holders.

The new Land Rover Discovery is available in the full-size seven-seat arrangement with Intelligent Seat Fold technology for configuring the seating layout using the central touchscreen. The seats in the second row have been redesigned. Land Rover’s second-generation Activity Key is offered with the 2021 Discovery. The buyers can opt for a hands-free gesture-controlled tailgate as well.

The 2021 Land Rover Discovery has three Ingenium engine options — 2.0-litre four-cylinder P300 petrol (296hp of maximum power and 400Nm of peak torque), 3.0-litre six-cylinder P360 petrol (355hp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque) and 3.0-litre six-cylinder D300 diesel (296hp of maximum power and 650Nm of peak torque). The in-house designed and developed straight-six Ingenium petrol and diesel engines are new additions to the Discovery range. The new Discovery comes with Land Rover’s intelligent all-wheel-drive system, Terrain Response 2 technology and Wade Mode.

Land Rover India’s product portfolio now includes the Discovery Sport, new Discovery, new Defender 90, Defender 110, new Range Rover Evoque, new Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover and new Range Rover Sport SVR. Below are their starting prices (ex-showroom, India).

Discovery Sport – Rs 65.30 lakh

New Discovery – Rs 88.06 lakh

New Defender – Rs 76.57 lakh

Defender 110 – Rs 83.38 lakh

Range Rover Sport – Rs 91.27 lakh

Improved version of Hyundai Creta launched in Indian market: Check it out here

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –
