PV Sindhu beats Yamaguchi of Japan to seal her place in the semi-finals
India had a great start in the Tokyo Olympics today. Boxer Lovlina gave a chance to the countrymen to rejoice by making sure of the medal. By reaching the semi-finals, they have ensured at least a bronze. On the other hand, the Indian women’s hockey team defeated Ireland to win their first Olympics. However, Archer Deepika Kumari was eliminated after losing in the quarterfinals.
The second set was great. Sindhu was winning this set easily. She was leading 14-8 but from here Yamaguchi started making a comeback. He took the score to 17-16. The match was going great. Yamaguchi was ahead with two match points. After this Sindhu showed a wonderful game and won the match by winning four consecutive points. Sindhu won the match 21-13, 22-20.
Sindhu continues to dominate in the second game as well. Great net play against short stature Yamaguchi. Sindhu continued to lead the Japanese shuttler by trapping it near the net. At the moment, a significant four-point lead in the second game. Score: 10-6 in favor of PV Sindhu and India

He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”
Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
