Home Minister Amit Shah will lay the foundation stone of the Institute today
The modernisation of Uttar Pradesh police has been on the top of the agenda of the Yogi government. In order to give a new dimension to investigation, the state government is coming up with a state-of-the-art UP State Forensic Science Institute that is going to prove to be a milestone for speedy disposal of criminal cases. Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday will lay the foundation stone of the proposed being constructed on 50 acres of land in Lucknow.
UP State Forensic Science Institute will be the center of excellence in the field of scientific crime investigation with modern facilities and technology. This institute, being set up with the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, will set the best standards of study, education, research and training. This institute will act as a resource center in the field of forensic science, behavioral science, civil and crime law by becoming a pool of trained manpower.
Institute will offer various courses
UP State Forensic Science Institute will not only cooperate in investigation of complex crimes but will also provide better opportunities for education and employment to the youth of the state. In this institute, to be headed by a senior police officer, students of science and IT stream will be able to do courses in various subjects. The institute will also work to train forensic scientists working in forensic labs and police personnel by developing professional skills for scientific investigation of cases of complex crimes.
Center for Excellence for DNA to be built on five acres
A Center of Excellence for DNA will also be established in this institute in collaboration with National Forensic Science University (NFSU), Gandhinagar, Gujarat on five acres. This Center of Excellence to be established in the field of DNA will be the most unique institute in the country. After its establishment, it will help in developing the latest technology and research in the field of DNA testing in Uttar Pradesh.
Forensic lab will be made at police range level
The state government along with the UP State Forensic Science Institute is also setting up forensic labs at the police range level across the state. In which forensic equipment and DNA lab will be present. The DNA labs have already been started in Lucknow, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur and Agra while other forensic labs are being set up in various districts of the state. Eight mobile forensic vans equipped with modern equipment have also been made available to all the zonal headquarters for quick and safe collection of evidence after the crime. Forensic mobile vans have facilities for preliminary testing of blood, semen, explosives, narcotics, firearms, microchemicals, etc.
Education
As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
