KTM launches the third generation of the 1290 Super Adventure S: See pics inside
KTM had launched the third generation of the 1290 Super Adventure S in select international markets in January this year. The company had also announced that the adventure motorcycle will hit the showrooms internationally (excluding North America) starting from March 2021. Now finally, the brand has also launched the 1290 Super Adventure S in the Malaysian market.
The adventure motorcycle gets a tall and robust look and is only available in a Orange and Black paint scheme. The 1290 Super Adventure S is offered with features like all-LED lights, USB charging socket, slipper clutch, five riding modes (Rain, Street, Sport, Off-Road and optional Rally), Quickshifter and a tilt-angle adjustable seven-inch TFT instrument cluster. Talking about safety features, it gets cornering ABS, stability control, traction control, automatic turn indicator reset, anti-theft and tyre pressure monitoring system. The adventure motorcycle also comes equipped with a five-stage radar system that maintains a safe distance from the traffic ahead.
The 1290 Super Adventure S is powered by a 1301cc V-twin Euro5 compliant engine that churns out 157.8bhp at 9,000rpm and 138Nm at 6,500rpm. This engine comes coupled with a six-speed transmission.
The KTM 1290 Adventure S is priced at RM 1,32,900 in the Malaysian market, which converts to Rs 23.28 lakh. While this bike is available in select international markets, its chances of arrival in India are pretty bleak as we expect the company to first launch the 790 adventure in the country. The KTM’s 790 Adventure was recently spotted at Bajaj’s Chakan factory, and we expect to see it in the Indian market by this festive season.
