Relations between America and Pakistan may be at its worst
The relationship between America and Pakistan is in the most difficult phase right now. It is being said that relations have become more complicated due to the bigotry of Pakistani leaders. Pakistan’s National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf had even said during his visit to the US that if US President Joe Biden does not call Prime Minister Imran Khan, then Pakistan can work on other options.
In the case of Kashmir, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had also said something similar about Saudi Arabia that if Saudi does not help Pakistan, then it will look for other options. But Pakistan had to pay a price for this statement and in the middle the army chief had to make a lot of effort to normalize the situation. Saudi Arabia started asking for its loans.
Moeed Yusuf went to America last week. In the same tour, he had said in an interview to the Financial Times, “The US President has not even spoken to Prime Minister Imran Khan, while Pakistan is such an important country. America itself believes that Pakistan has an important role in Afghanistan, but is still ignoring it. We are trying to understand this message.
It can be understood from this statement of Pakistan’s NSA that its relations with America are under serious question. The future of bilateral cooperation between the two countries looks dark. However, Yusuf said after the US visit that his visit to the US has been very positive and that US-Pakistan relations are moving in the right direction. However, he also admitted that his talks with American officials were not very good. Yusuf wrote in his tweet that the focus of both sides is on the results and not on the situation.
