Giving a major boost to the covid-19 vaccination drive which is already being conducted at a rapid pace, Uttar Pradesh on Monday administered over 32.9 lakh doses, making it one of the highest ever single-day vaccine coverage for the state.
This vaccine landmark was achieved under a mega free vaccination campaign conducted by the state on September 27 to inoculate maximum of its eligible beneficiaries. Over 1,72,040 doses were administered in the state capital itself.
As Uttar Pradesh continues to intensify its vaccination drive with the aim of keeping the anticipated third Covid-19 wave at bay, the state has so far given over 10,33,49,118 ‘Shots of Life’ to the people.
In another achievement, the most populous state has also achieved the landmark of administering the first dose of the covid-19 vaccine to over 55 percent of the eligible adult population. Over 8,38,28,804people have received the first dose of the vaccine so far.
The state of Uttar Pradesh has also inched closer to touch the 2 crore-mark in number of fully vaccinated people. As many as 1,95,20,314 people have received both the doses of the vaccine so far.
Earlier, UP administered more than 30 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses on August 27, which was the highest ever in a day by any State. On August 3, UP gave around 29.5 lakh doses of vaccine against Covid-19 which was also an all-time high record in single day coverage.
On September 25, Uttar Pradesh also became the first state to cross the 100-million Covid vaccination mark.
Aggressive Vaccination is an integral part of the comprehensive strategy of the Yogi Adityanath government to contain the pandemic, along with adherence to coronavirus- appropriate behaviour.
The Uttar Pradesh government is keeping on their toes to get the majority of the population inoculated. As the second wave of the novel coronavirus remains in control in the state, the demand to get vaccinated remains high as it is the only option to fight out the invisible enemy.
On the contrary, Maharashtra lags behind with 7.93 crore doses so far. The vaccination numbers in Rajasthan stand at 5.5 crore, West Bengal has given nearly 5.6 crore doses so far, in Tamil Nadu only 4.63 crore vaccine doses have been given and Kerala has given only 3.51 crore doses so far.
