New Chinese smartphone Poco M4 Pro 5G launched: Read all details here

The Poco M4 Pro 5G is set for its global launch on November 9. The smartphone maker announced the new device last week and since then some of its key specifications have leaked online. The smartphone is tipped to be a rebranded variant of the recently introduced Redmi Note 11. Xiaomi and Poco have a long history of rebranding their phones for different markets. The Poco M4 Pro 5G is likely to be another one of those devices.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 11 in its home country alongside the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ late October. The company has remained silent about the global launch of these devices. One cannot rule out the possibility of both Redmi Note 11 and Poco M4 Pro launching globally, despite being the same phone, more or less. Poco smartphones usually have a completely different design language though. Last year, Poco did something similar. It launched the Redmi Note 10 5G in India as a rebranded Poco M3 Pro 5G.

However, the leaked renders of the Poco M4 Pro 5G suggest that this time Poco might not make too many changes to the design. The Poco M4 Pro 5G looks identical to the Redmi Note 11. It is tipped to come in grey and the company’s distinct yellow colour option. The rear camera module seems to have a large Poco branding, while the front panel may come with a centrally-aligned hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

Poco has also confirmed that the phone will support 33W fast charging. This is the charging support you also get on the Redmi Note 11. Notably, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ with 67W and 120W fast charging, respectively.

If the Poco M4 Pro 5G is indeed the Redmi Note 11, it should feature a 6.6-inch Full-HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone might be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone is likely to run Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 custom skin out of the box. The Redmi Note 11 also packs a 5000 mAh battery which you may find inside the Poco M4 Pro 5G as well.

Other expected features include 50-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel secondary sensor and a 16-megapixel selfie snapper.
