In the wake of rising cases of Omicron, several states have imposed travel restrictions and some stringent Covid-19 protocols to curb the highly contagious virus. Following this, the Punjab government has also made Covid vaccination mandatory if people want to visit public places such as cinema halls, hotels, and markets.

While the order will come into effect on January 15, here’s a quick look at how you can download Covid-19 certificate via various platforms, as one will also require this while travelling to other states. Keep reading to know more.

How to download Covid vaccine certificate via WhatsApp

Step 1: You first need to save this +91 9013151515 number in your contact list and then drop a ‘Hi’ message on WhatsApp. This is an official MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbot, which lets you download the certificate in less than 30 seconds.

Step 2: Once you send that message, the chatbot will show a list of topics related to coronavirus. In the same list, you will also find a “Download Certificate” option. You just need to type “2” and send it on the chat.

Step 3: The chatbot will again display options related to vaccination, so you just type “2” and send it on the messaging app. This basically means that you are asking the bot to send your vaccine certificate from CoWIN platform.

Step 4: After this, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, which you will have to send on the chat.

It should be noted that if your registered number on CoWIN is different from your WhatsApp number, then you will not get OTP. So, users will then have to download the certificate using the government’s Arogya Setup app, which also takes less than 60 seconds.

Those who get OTP, the chatbot will display the names of individuals that are registered on the online site with that number. You can then select your name and ask for your certificate.

How to download Covid vaccine certificate using Aarogya Setu app?

Step 1: Open the Aarogya Setup app on your smartphone and visit CoWIN tab. It should be noted that if you haven’t used this app for a while, then you will be asked to log in again.

Step 2: Tap on the “Vaccination Certificate” option.

Step 3: Now, you need to enter your beneficiary reference ID, which one usually gets at the time of vaccination registration.

Step 4: Once done, just tap on the ‘Get Certificate’ button and then you are all set. The app will give you a PDF of the vaccine certificate.
