All you know about Kia Carens: Get details inside
Kia India revealed the trim details, technical specifications, and shared a peek of the interior of the Kia Carens ahead of its launch. With the pre-bookings for the Kia Carens to open from January 14, 2022, the company released crucial details of the upcoming three-row SUV which will take on the likes of the Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700, and even the MG Hector Plus. The new Kia Carens will be offered in five trim levels – Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus, along with its signature safety package as standard. Additionally, the Kia Carens will be available with a choice of both 6- and 7-seater options.
Tae-Jin Park, MD & CEO, Kia India, said, “With the Kia Carens, we want to address the need gap in the 3-row family mover segment by truly catering to the evolved needs of extended Indian families. We are confident that Carens, which has been designed to enable comfort through practical and convenient features, will provide a unique travel experience for the commuters.”
The new Kia Carens will be available with three powertrain options – Smartstream 1.5 Petrol (115bhp/ 144Nm), Smartstream 1.4 T-GDi Petrol (140bhp/ 242Nm) and 1.5 CRDi VGT Diesel (115bhp/ 250Nm). Moreover, Kia India will also offer the Kia Carens with an option to choose from three transmission options 6MT, 7DCT, and 6AT. Furthermore, the Kia Carens will boast multiple first-in-class features, such as a 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Kia Connect, Bose sound system with 8 speakers, a smart pure air purifier, ventilated front seats, second-row seat one-touch easy electric tumble, and sunroof to name a few.
The new Kia Carens will also enhance the connected car offering with the next-generation Kia Connect, which will consist of 66 connected features categorized under navigation, remote control, vehicle management, safety & security, and convenience. A few of these features include final destination guidance, server-based routing guidance, remote seat ventilation control, pro-active vehicle status alert, etc. In addition to Over the Air map updates, the Kia Carens will also get Over the Air (OTA) system updates.
As a three-row, 7-seater SUV, the Kia Carens offers massive space for the passengers on the inside. The Kia Carens boast the longest wheelbase in its class and compete even with already established vehicles from the segments above. The 2,780mm wheelbase enables a comfortable driving experience even in the third row. it measures 4,540mm in length, 1,800mm in width, and 1,708mm in height. Kia India will also offer the Kia Carens with a range of exterior colors, such as Imperial Blue, Moss Brown, Sparkling Silver, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl, and Clear White.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –
