Classes till 9 to 12 opened with full capacity in Bihar
Schools in Bihar reopened for physical classes for students from classes 9 to 12 at full capacity, and with 50 percent attendance for students till class 8, keeping in mind the necessary Covid-19 SOPs issued by the State Disaster Management Authority in all schools of the state.
On Sunday, the state government announced the reopening of all educational institutions from February 7.
The turnout
According to PTI, schools in Patna saw a low attendance, while others witnessed a good turnout. Regarding the same, teachers have mentioned that the turnout will eventually rise in the coming days.
The day’s activities in most schools included discussions on the coming board examinations and an orientation session to acquaint students with appropriate Covid-19 behaviour.
“Children were very excited to be back in schools on Monday after the closure of almost a month due to the coronavirus pandemic … We are strictly following the Covid-19 protocol. All classrooms have already been sanitised and proper seating arrangements have been made in each class to maintain social distance. We also organized orientation sessions to acquaint students with Covid appropriate behavior”, said Pradeep Mishra, Director of Manava Bharati International School, Patna, as reported by PTI.
Jay Prakash Verma, president of Himalayan Group of Education, told PTI, “Online is no alternative to offline classes. Students were really happy when they came to attend classes today. . Students up to Class 8 will attend classes on alternate days and will have to maintain proper social distancing in the school premises”.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
