Great News: Two new metro stations likely to open in Chennai

The CMRS recently completed an inspection at the new metro stations which will soon open on the 9km north Chennai line. The new Thiruvottiyur Theradi and Wimco Nagar depot stations will be open soon for passengers.

As per the report by the Times of India (TOI), these stations will be part of the 9km phase-1 extension line from Washermenpet to Wimco Nagar, which opened for service on February 14, 2021.

Last week, the CMRS and his team inspected several civil operations and system readiness, like the height of overhead equipment (OHE) and stagger measurement. The team also conducted the inspection of fire hydrants in the ramp area, TVS jet fans and ramp sump pump.

The team also checked the measurement of the schedule of dimensions, which is the distance between the centre of the track and the nearest structure, gauge, level and clearance measurement at every 200m interval.

The safety-related issues, passenger emergency telephone, public announcements, passenger information displays, lifts and escalators and other items were also inspected.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

– Smart panoramic sunroof

– 16-inch black alloy wheels

– Smartphone wireless charger

– Rear Disc Brakes

– Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

– Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)

– Hill start assist control (HAC)

– Paddle shifters

– Metal pedals

– Electric and auto-folding ORVMs

– Power window auto up/down

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
