Paris: France soccer legend Zinedine Zidane again expressed his will of managing the national team in the future, said a media report on Tuesday.

The 42-year-old, who won the World Cup in 1998 and European Championship in 2000 with Les Bleus during his player career, is currently coaching Real Madrid’s reserve team Castilla, as per reported.

While being the guest of the “Canal Football Club” on Canal+, the former playmaker took the opportunity to reiterate that he would like to manage Farnce “someday”.

“I will say it clearly,” he said. “My objective and my ambition is to be the coach of the French national team.”

“When? Someday. I have time ahead,” added Zidane, who won 108 caps for France between 1994 and 2006.

It has been suggested in Spain that Madrid are grooming the Frenchman to succeed current boss Carlo Ancelotti, and Zidane answered: “Of course. But now there is a great coach. I learn a lot alongside Carlo.”

Asked about the possibility of replacing Laurent Blanc in Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, Zidane didnot close any door.

Sunil Gavaskar gives his opinion of GT allrounder Rahul Tewatia

The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.

Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”

Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
