Daredevils look to hold on to winning edge against Royals (Preview)
Mumbai: Delhi Daredevils, who have found a bit of momentum after a sluggish start, will aim to hold on to their off-late form when they take on Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Brabourne Stadium here on Sunday.
Daredevils will go in to the match after a comprehensive nine-wicket win over Kings XI Punjab on Friday. Comeback man Zaheer Khan took two early wickets to put the visitors on the back foot right at the start while Nathan Coulter-Nile was impressive, picking 4/20.
Whereas, Royals will be bit low in confidence after their eight-run loss to Mumbai Indians with two of their matches before Friday also washed out.
Even after getting off to a flying start in the season, winning five back-to-back matches, the Shane Watson led-side failed to hold on to the winning touch.
Daredevils on the other hand look a balanced side now, having climbed up the points table with four wins from eight games.
In their last game against Kings XI, openers Mayank Agarwal and Shreyas Iyer put on an impressive 106 run partnership for the first wicket while chasing. Both scored half-centuries to steer their team to a comfortable win.
They will aim to deliver something similar against Royals too when the duo take the field.
After a couple of losses, the Royals will look to get back to winning ways depending on their batting strength comprising the season’s leading run-getter Ajinkya Rahane (339), Shane Watson, Steve Smith, Sanju Samson.

Delhi Daredevils: JP Duminy (captain), Quinton de Kock, Mayank Agarwal, Manoj Tiwary, Yuvraj Singh, Saurabh Tiwary, Angelo Mathews, Kedar Jadhav, Imran Tahir, Amit Mishra, Shahbaz Nadeem, Zaheer Khan, Jaydev Unadkat, Mohammed Shami, C.M. Gautam, Gurinder Sandhu, Jayant Yadav, Albie Morkel, Srikar Bharat, Marcus Stoinis, Dominic Muthuswamy, Shreyas Iyer, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Karapak Jiyas, Travis Head.
