IMT Ghaziabad ‘Foundation Program’ creates new benchmark in management education
New Delhi: Covering the four pillars of learning i.e. People, Perspectives, Periods, and Processes and bringing in the valuable inputs from industry experts, the recently concluded ‘Foundation Program’ at IMT Ghaziabad, India’s premier B-School created new benchmarks in management and business education pedagogy. The two-week program, which was specifically tailored for the new PGDM batch, proved to be a great platform for students wherein they were exposed to industry interface, global business scenario, corporate world, and discussion on entrepreneurship and start-ups. The program helped the students to understand the process of management education at IMT and made them prepared to achieve success in their future endeavors.
The program received an overwhelmed response by participants, new students, and applauded hugely by the industry experts, business leaders and IMT Alumni for its unique concept and execution. IMT witnessed the high-profile guests from across the industries enlightening the students on varied topics including management, business, corporate leadership, time management, entrepreneurship, CSR, team building, personal branding and others.

The new PGDM batch appreciated the IMT for its effort to create a platform of learning, sharing and interacting for them at initial stage of their management education and upcoming career. Students admired the concept of Foundation Program and shared their experience of interacting with industry experts and IMT alumni.
Sharing his experience, Mr. Aditya Bhatia, PGDM- 2015-17 batch said, “The foundation module at IMT was very engaging, knowledge driven and dynamic in nature. The values of Perspectives, Processes, Periods and People were well elucidated through different mediums of pedagogy and set the tone for the next two eventful years at the institute.”
Ms. Trishala Singh, PGDM 2015-2017 batch shared her experience and said, “To blend the diversity of backgrounds that each one of us represent, the module brings rigorous sessions focused on current and past business environment – acclimatizing us for the crazy days ahead. I appreciate the platforms for dialogue and openness to feedback that the faculty had towards the end of the module.”

Speaking about the concept of Foundation Program, Dr Bibek Banerjee, Director, IMT Ghaziabad said, “IMT’s PGDM program consists of two parts including The Foundation Module and The Core Module. The Foundation Program is designed to break the old convention of orientation program that is currently aligned more towards course, rather than the individual growth. The program is an on-campus two-week program wherein the students get to work on their interpersonal skills and expose to business ethics, corporate social and legal responsibilities, corporate governance and globalization. At IMT, we endeavor to bring best of the theoretical and practical knowledge and introduce concepts that prepare the students for future and existing challenges. The Foundation Program is a progressive step by IMT in the direction of creating the next crop of management marvels, business experts and global leaders.”
While the students left no stone unturned to get knowledge and experience from the program, the guests and alumni were delighted to share this unique platform with the new breed of entrepreneurs and future leaders. They interacted with the students and encouraged them to consider their role at IMT and get the maximum benefits from the prestigious legacy of IMT. Speaking on his experience about foundation program, Dr. Rishi Bhatnagar, VP, Head – DES, Tech Mahindra, a 1998 pass out of PGDCA batch said, “It was a great pleasure to welcome the new students at IMT and share my experience with them. The whole session proved to be a learning experience for me, as I met some of the best minds and discussed various business and management topics. The energy and passion in new students was commendable and I could relate myself to their aspirations. It was totally a nostalgic experience and I feel proud that IMT invited me to be a part of this unique program.”
IMT’s Foundation Program enables students to understand the core elements of management and business theories and practices. It exposes students to various learning tools including expert session, alumni session, one-to-one interaction, experiential learning, presentations and others.

Dr. Abhishek Verma Dedicates a Shelter in Memory of His Mother, Veena Verma, at KGMU; Inaugurated by Daughter Nicolle Verma
World-renowned business tycoon Dr. Abhishek Verma has supported Foodman Vishal Singh’s Hunger-Free World mission. In memory of his mother, Late Veena Verma, who was a 3 term Rajya Sabha MP.
Dr. Verma dedicated a state-of-the-art free permanent shelter for the attendants of patients at KGMU Medical University, Lucknow, under the aegis of Vijay Shree Foundation. His daughter, Nicolle Verma, inaugurated the shelter.
During the event, Foodman Vishal Singh honored Nicolle Verma by presenting her with a memento. Mrs. Nidhi Sharma and Avantika Yadav, associated with the organization, welcomed her with garlands. Following this, Nicolle Verma distributed essential items to the attendants and also handed out fruits. She became emotional remembering her grandmother on her birth anniversary.
On this occasion, she also inaugurated the “Veena Verma Sevalaya” in memory of her grandmother, Veena Verma, to serve the attendants. She expressed, “I feel proud that my family is engaged in nation-building as well as social service. Today, in collaboration with Vijay Shree Foundation founder Foodman Vishal Singh Ji, I feel immensely proud to dedicate this shelter for the poor, helpless, and needy attendants of patients battling serious illnesses like cancer. I am honored to be associated with the Hunger-Free World Mission for humanity.”
Inspired by the continuous humanitarian service provided by Vijay Shree Foundation over the past 17 years, Nicolle Verma donated 10 lakh rupees to support the cause. The purpose of this donation is to ensure that services continue for the needy attendants of patients suffering from severe illnesses in hospitals, as facilitated by Foodman Vishal Singh.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Abhishek Verma’s family has a legacy of public and philanthropic service. They are helping millions to carry forward the values and service work of their parents. On the occasion of his mother’s birth anniversary, Dr. Abhishek Verma dedicated this state-of-the-art permanent shelter at Lucknow Medical College to serve the attendants of patients through the Vijay Shree Foundation.
Supporting Foodman Vishal Singh’s Hunger-Free World mission, Dr. Abhishek Verma assured that he would continually support keeping this flame of humanity alive. He also promised to assist in providing medicines to the helpless patients.
Continuing her grandmother’s legacy of service, Nicolle Verma personally served food to the needy patients and attendants. She said, “It is our good fortune to have received the joy of doing this noble work today through Foodman Vishal Singh. I have taken another step forward in carrying my family’s values and cooperation by joining hands with the Vijay Shree Foundation. My father taught me to serve and help the needy, and I feel happy when I bring a smile to someone’s face.”
On the birth anniversary of the late Veena Verma, the event organizer, Vijay Shree Foundation founder Foodman Vishal Singh, said, “We feel proud and happy that Dr. Abhishek Verma, a globally renowned business tycoon, has extended his support to uplift our country from the hunger index.
