Mercedes Benz launches Mercedes AMG S 63
Bengaluru: As part of an aggressive product strategy, Mercedes Benz India on Tuesday launched Mercedes AMG S63 from its performance division Mercedes AMG, its 10th car launch in 2015.
“The new AMG V8 flagship model in the S-Class is a unique package that has no match in the competitive segment. Path breaking technology like ‘Magic Body Control’ and a gamut of high-end features makes the Mercedes AMG S63 one of the most desirable luxury sedans in our range,” said Mercedes Benz India MD and CEO Eberhard Kern at the launch.
Priced at Rs.2.53 crore (ex-showroom Bengaluru), the Mercedes AMG S63 comes with features like head-up display, night view assist Plus, seat comfort package, AMG sports exhaust system and others. It is equipped with AMG 5.5 litre V8 biturbo engine which produces 430 kW (585 hp) power.
This is the ninth AMG offering in India from Mercedes Benz – the other models include AMG G 63, AMG GL 63, AMG ML 63 and AMG GLA 45 under the SUV category, AMG E 63, AMG S 63 Coupe and AMG S 63 under the sedan category and AMG SLK 55 in the roadster version.
“Owing to the increasing popularity of Mercedes AMG brand in India, Mercedes Benz has opened five exclusive AMG Performance Centres in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune,” Kern added.
Customers can also customise their S 63 using Mercedes Benz’s recently launched ‘designo’ platform which offers a choice of hundreds of combinations of exterior colours, interior upholstery, design trim elements and others.
Mercedes Benz sold 6,659 units from January to June in 2015 registering a year-on-year growth of 41 percent for the first half of the year.

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –
