New Delhi: Myles, the leading self-drive car sharing and rental service provider, today announced its go-to-market strategy which is in sync with the Delhi Government’s much applauded ‘odd- even rule’ targeted to ease out traffic congestion on the city’s streets as well as lower the noxious pollution levels.

The “odd-even” pilot scheme was hugely successful in reducing road congestion & fuel usage and had made significant impact on public awareness. Recognizing the growing concern of rising pollution levels further affecting the world’s already most polluted city, Myles has rolled out its socially responsible service offering for the commuters. Self-drive cars are exempted from the odd-even scheme and thus it will play an instrumental role in decongesting the city. Moreover, car sharing service will dramatically bring down the number of cars plying on the roads, address the parking menace and effectively improve the overall air and traffic conditions.

Speaking on the plan, Ms Sakshi Vij, Founder & CEO, Myles, commentedWe are conscious of the growing concern of traffic congestion and pollution owing to vehicular traffic in the city and are committed to build a socially responsible ecosystem to play our part in addressing the problem. We believe in the benefit of Car Sharing/Self-drive services as they lead to decongestion of cities. More and more adoption of car sharing service will reduce the number of cars on the roads effectively improve the overall traffic condition. Parking menace, the other growing challenge is also effectively minimized & controlled by our car sharing product. Self-drive cars being exempt from the odd-even scheme An increase of 32% in bookings over the previous week, bears testimony to our adaptation and consistent service.”

“Myles is making sure that greater flexibility, convenience and affordability is available to any individual looking to use a self-drive car. A car in a Car sharing network can eliminate at least 25 personal cars. We believe that Myles can effectively solve the congestion problems in urban cities caused due to the growing number of owned cars. We aim at providing a responsible product which delivers financial benefits to end users, along with achieving over-all infrastructural benefits.” she added.

Myles presently covers 100+ locations in Delhi-NCR and has announced various initiatives including heavy discounts on its rental services once the odd-even rule was rolled out on the 15th of April, including, cars starting at Rs 100 rent/ day, home delivery charges slashed by 50%, induction of electric and hybrid environment friendly cars in Myles fleet.
