Piaggio Vespa 946 automatic scooter in India for Rs 9 lakh
Italian scooter maker Piaggio has positioned the Vespa 946 right at the top of its model range. The flagship product sells for nearly $10,000 in the United States, making it the most expensive Vespa in the world.
The Vespa 946 is coming to the Indian market in the next three months. Piaggio India seems to think that this automatic scooter will be a good addition to its Indian line up as a brand builder. In India, don’t expect the Vespa 946 to come cheap.
Since Piaggio plans to import the Vespa 946 as a completely built unit, the price of the scooter will bloat up to Rs. 8-9 lakhs, making it the costliest scooter ever in India. At that price, the Vespa 946 will be costlier than even cars like the Maruti Dzire and the Ford Ecosport. A work of art, the Vespa 946 is intended to be the rides of the super rich in India, the kind of people who sip Evian and whose preferred modes of transport includes Rolla Royces and Lear Jets.
