Lucknow, Agra and Varanasi to be linked by air services

In order to enhance the facilities given to tourists, the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department would be launching air services connecting Varanasi with Agra via Lucknow. Airplanes with 18-20 seats would be flown. On the same line air services would be started in Lucknow, Allahabad and Gorakhpur.

The tendering process in this regard is in its final stage. Apart from this, dormitories would be constructed in Maghar — the birth place of Kabir for the convenience of the travellers and visitors. Mango Festival would be celebrated on June 25, and efforts are being made to popularise various and famous delicacies of Uttar Pradesh at the international level. The UP government had sent some proposal to the Centre, which have been approved, and under it Rs 300 crore would be spent on various tourism schemes.

Elaborating further on this Principal Secretary (Tourism) Mr Navneet Sehgal said that under the recently launched Tourism Policy of the UP government, hotels of the tourism department, which are not able operate well, would be given on lease to private sector, and simultaneously, beautification of guest houses would also be done.

Apart from this, the UP government is also focusing its attention on religious tourism. In this regard, the UP government is supplying 24 hours electricity to all the places of religious importance. Underground wiring in these places is also being done.

He further stated that under the pro-poor tourism policy of the state government, efforts are being made to link the people living in the vicinity of the tourists spots with the tourist spots, and soon that work of looking after and maintaining the historical and heritage monuments would be given to the local residents of the area, thereby ensuring a direct connect between the monument with the people of the area. This is likely to generate employment for the local people.

What monkey fled with a bag containing evidence in it: Read full story

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
