SUPERHOUSE CHAMPIONS TROPHY begins at DPS Jankipuram Lucknow

Lucknow is all set to witness some exciting cricket and football action as Superhouse Sports Academy, today rolled out the SUPERHOUSE CHAMPIONS TROPHY at Delhi Public School Jankipuram Lucknow. To continue unearthing good cricket and football talent from the city, the tournament is being conducted under the aegis of Superhouse Education Foundation, in association with Professional Sports Promotion.

The countdown to the Superhouse Champions Trophy began with the opening ceremony on 12 December 2014. The school band performed magically to welcome the chief guest and the participating teams in the tournament. God sends his musicians upon earth with songs of happiness and of mirth, that they might touch the hearts of people.

The Vice Principal Delhi Public School Jankipuram, Ms Neeru Bhaskar introduced the chief Guest Mr Rajinder Amarnath, former cricketer and commentator, to all present there.Speaking on the occasion Vice Principal Ms Neeru Bhaskar said, ” We are confident that this tournament can emerge as a very powerful youth mobilization program. Also sport promotes social cohesiveness and well-being.We wish all the participating young cricketers the very best for the tournament”.

Addressing the gathering the Principal, Delhi Public School Jankipuram, Mr Benjamin Simonsaid ,“This initiative is unique in the sense that, other than the cricket itself, this also has components of coaching &education in sports, medicine and nutrition and exposure for youngsters to international cricket programs. This tournament shall encourage participation in sports activities amongst the youth.”

The Chief Guest MrRajinderAmarnathsaid, “Our purpose of getting into grassroots sports tournament is twofold. On one hand, it helps to identify and promote young talent and gives them a well charted course to make it big in sports, on the other; it helps us get young children out into sports arenas and grounds. With changes in lifestyle, our children are not spending as much time playing as we would do in our childhood.

SUPERHOUSE CHAMPIONS TROPHY is a major initiative by Superhouse Education Foundation, in association with Professional Sports Promotion, to promote grass root cricket and football in the country. The tournament will involve over 12 days of cricket and football action.

The teams and players performing will stand a chance to winprizes like Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Best All Rounder and Best Fielder apart from Winners And Runners Up Trophy. The best behaved team which plays within the rules during the tournament would be entitled to Fair Play Cup .All the teams would also receive participation certificates.

Among the school participating in the tournament are Delhi Public School,Eldeco, Delhi Public School Indiranagar, Delhi Public School ,Jankipuram, Mont Fort Inter College, Unity College, KendriyaVidyalaya,Aliganj, Amity International , Rameshwaram International School and many more.

The two teams for the very first match of SUPERHOUSE CHAMPIONS TROPHY lined up soon after the Opening Ceremony for the introduction. The first match between Delhi Public School Jankipuram and Rameshwaram International School commenced soon after the ceremony.

Sunil Gavaskar gives his opinion of GT allrounder Rahul Tewatia

The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.

Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”

Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
