Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha organise T10 cricket tournament after 17-years
Lucknow: In a bid to promote sports activity in Uttar Pradesh state capital’s Jankipuram colony, a T10 cricket tournament was today started at the only playground located in Jankipuram Extension basedSector 8 locality by the Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha.
The tournament was inaugurated by Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha’s Guardian Dr. Agam Dayal along with Mr. Arvind Nath Mishra, Chairman, Mr. S. K. Bajpayee and Special Advisor Mr. Arun Mishra was also present on the occasion.
Also present on the occasion was the founding convener of Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha, Pankaj Kumar Tiwari, General Secretary, Ram Tiwari, Vice President Santosh Tiwari, Minister, Ajay Kumar Yadav, treasurer Rajiv Kumar Gupta, Special Adviser Umesh Kumar Mishra, Coordinator of Yoga Cell, Vijaykant Shrivastav, Co-Convener of Youth Cell, Shankar Agarwal, Senior Member, RK Pandey along with several special guests of the area including Manoj Dubey and SS Shukla apart from many other senior citizens of the area were also there to grace the occasion.
This cricket tournament which started from 7th January, 2018 will end on 14th January, the tournament Administrator, Abhishek Tiwari alias Toshu told media persons that there were about 12 teams participating in this cricket competition and the final match of this cricket tournament will be played on January 14th.
Speaking on this occasion Pankaj Kumar Tiwari, convener of the General Assembly, told that the playground was built 17 years ago in Jankipuram extension but due to lack of maintenance this ground remained in bad state because of which children of the locality does not have any playground to groom their sports talent.

Keeping this fact about the ground form last few months in mind, the Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha (LJM) decided to improve this playground and beside the efforts LJM, some prominent newspaper also raised this issue, as a result of which, Prof. Pratap Shankar Mishra, Executive Engineer, Lucknow Development Authority, Zone 5 showed his interest to speed-up the maintenance work of play ground and changed the look of the playground within a few months.
Now, in order to make people aware about this play ground in the locality, a T-10 cricket competition is being organized by Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha, so that now the children of the region cannot go away and make comeback to this playground to refine their talent.
In this regards, a special thanks message was also given by Special adviser of committee, Mr. Umesh Kumar Mishra to all member of Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha for their efforts in giving this playground facelift including local residents Ashutosh Tiwari and Rishabh Mishra for improving the playground system.
General Secretary of Lucknow Janvikas Mahasabha, Santosh Tiwari said that such sports competitions will be organized further by the General Assembly and awareness of people not only for cricket but also for other sports will be increased gradually.
Today, on this occasion of opening ceremony, a first match was played between Real Tiger vs White Eagle teams, in which White Eagle’s defeated Real Tiger team by 4 wickets.
A team member of White Eagle, Sandeep was declared the Man of the Match. On other hand, in second match that was played between Real Tiger vs Khargspur Tiger in which Real Tiger won the match by 6 wickets.

Sunil Gavaskar gives his opinion of GT allrounder Rahul Tewatia
The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.
Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.
Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”
Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
