CM’s fellowship plan for students goes online in Jharkhand

Ranchi, Jan 24 (IANS) Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday launched online the Mukhyamantri Fellowship Scheme to help needy students.

The students can apply online for scholarship, grants and other things and they will not have to run from one office to another.

Launching the scheme, Raghubar Das said: “Many times students fail to complete the studies due to paucity of funds. The state government is with such students.”

The Jharkhand government was committed to promote research and it stood with those students who were interested in research work, Das said, adding that the fellowship scheme would help students interested in research.

He said: “The state government has taken many steps to promote higher education and fellowship for research is just one more step.”

Elaborating on the scheme, Higher Education Secretary Ajay Kumar said: “The fellowship is for students of different categories: First is to provide fellowship to students studying in graduation in technical subjects, and second is that Rs 15,000 stipend will be given to students doing Ph.D and research work. This amount is given for three years.”

If the research work of the students was accepted by any of the top 100 universities, “the student is provided Rs 1 lakh”.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon

Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.

Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.

CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS

The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.

COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.

The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
