New Delhi, July 20 (IANS) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday rejected officials’ reports questioning feasibility of various ‘mohalla clinics’ after inspected the proposed sites and terming them viable.

Kejriwal, along with Health Minister Satyendar Jain personally went to inspect sites for new mohalla clinics in west Delhi after officers rejected feasibility of numerous areas.

“Officers rejected many sites of mohalla clinics. I am personally visiting some of these sites. Many found viable on the spot,” he said in a tweet.

Kejriwal, after inspecting and finding nothing wrong in E-block of Saraswati Vihar and Paschim Vihar, said that the work of building mohalla clinics will be conducted on a war footing.

“After the Supreme Court’s judgement, we have some ease in doing work. The mohalla clinics in E-block Saraswati Vihar and Paschim Vihar will be built within a month and by December end, everyone will be able to use it,” he told local residents.

He also gave strict remarks to the officers on a mismatch in the feasibility report of DJB sites for mohalla clinics and ordered fresh reports on the actual status.

“I am sure the officers have meddled with the reports of mohalla clinics. It is my hunch that all these sites are feasible. Make the report again and I will go with you to the sites,” he instructed an officer present on the location.

“Don’t take it lightly, I will visit each and every site personally,” he said.

During his visit, Kejriwal, on the spot, approved the construction of a mohalla clinic at BG-6 West Vihar Colony in Paschim Vihar.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government’s ambitious mohalla clinic project has been providing accessible and quality healthcare services to not only the population of Delhi but also migratory and floating population from neighbourhood states, JJ clusters, slums and unauthorised colonies.

Recently, Kejriwal had announced that six prominent global leaders will be visiting the AAP mohalla clinics on September 6.
