Girls once again outperformed boys in CBSE Class 10 results
New Delhi: With a pass percentage of 92.45 in the Class 10 CBSE results, which were announced on Monday, girls outperformed boys by a margin of 2.31 per cent.
Girls once again outperformed boys as the Central Board of Secondary Education announced the Class 10 results on Monday.
Thirteen students bagged the first rank with 499 out of 500 marks. The second and third rank were shared by 24 and 58 students, respectively.
A total of 2.25 lakh students scored above 90 per cent and 57,256 scored above 95 per cent.
The Trivandrum region performed the best with a pass percentage of 99.85, followed by Chennai and Ajmer with 99 and 95.89 respectively.
Delhi ranked second last with a pass percentage of 80.97 and Guwahati was last with 74.49.
The results which were announced in record time following court direction, showed that girls’ pass percentage was 92.45 percent, while the boys’ were at 90.14.
“Proud of my young friends who have successfully cleared the CBSE Class X examinations. Wishing them the very best for their journey ahead. May these young minds continue making us proud,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated students and also appreciated the hard work and sacrifice put in even by their teachers and parents.
Just four days back the CBSE Class 12, results were declared, in which the girls had similarly outshined the boys. In the Class 10 results, the transgender students have outdone the category with 94.74 pass percentage as against 83.33 last time.
“Congratulations to over 16 lakh students who have succeeded in #CBSE Xth board examinations and best of luck for those who couldn’t make this time but will make it in next attempt,” Human Resource Minister Prakash Javadekar tweeted.
“Overall pass percentage has increased by 4.40 from 80.70 per cent in 2018 to 91.10 in 2019,” the Minister added.

Siddhant Pengoriya from Lotus Valley International School in Noida, is among the 13 toppers who all scored 499 out of 500 in the exam.
The names of the other toppers, each of whom are from a different school, are Divyansh Wadhwa, Yogesh Kumar Gupta, Ankur Mishra, Vatsal Varshney, Manya, Aryan Jha, Taru Jha, Bhavana Sivadas, Ish Madan among others.
Twenty four students bagged the second rank in CBSE Class 10 results with 498 marks, while 58 students shared the third spot with 497 marks.
Union Minister Smriti Irani tweeted that her daughter Zoish scored 82 per cent.
Trivandrum zone outperformed others in pan India circuit with 99.85 pass percentage, with Chennai coming a close second at 99 per cent and Ajmaer third at 95.89. Delhi’s pass percentage stood at 80.97.

More than 17 lakh students had taken the exam in February-March.
This year, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is declaring the class 10th result within 38 days of the exam. CBSE class 10 board exam had concluded on March 29.
Last year CBSE class 10th results were declared after 55 days of the exam.
Instead of percentage, for class 10 CBSE provides grades to students. Students can check the grade to marks scale from the official CBSE website.
The CBSE class 10th result is available on the official result portal cbseresults.nic.in.

As many as six new nursing colleges to be functional in Haryana soon
Haryana Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal shared that the construction work of six nursing colleges in the state will be completed soon and classes will commence in the month of July. Not only this, the new building of the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Panchkula has also completed its construction work.
Adding on to this, he shared that, till now, the classes are being held in another building, the chief secretary said while presiding over the review meeting of development projects worth more than Rs 100 crore here.
CHIEF SECRETARY REVIEWED MAJOR PROJECTS
The Chief Secretary reviewed several major projects, including power, health, medical, and technical education in the state, and directed the concerned officials to complete them within the stipulated time period.
COLLEGES UNDER CONSTRUCTION
He said that the construction of nursing colleges in Dherdu village of Kaithal, Khedi Ram Nagar village of Kurukshetra, Kheranwali village of Panchkula, Aura and Dayalpur village of Faridabad, and Sadatpur village of Rewari is under construction.
The construction work of Medical college in Koriawas in Narnaul, Medical College at Jind, Bhiwani, and Dental College at Nalhar is being completed at a fast pace. The work of the second phase of Kalpana Chawla Medical College is also undergoing.
