Passenger car and commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors Ltd has reported total domestic sales of 39,530 units in April 2021.

While there were no factory dispatches or wholesale volumes in April 2020 owing to the nationwide lockdown, the company said that the last month’s volumes were down 41% month-on-month when compared to March.

Tata Motors’ wholesales in March earlier this year stood at 66,609 units.

The wholesale volumes in April declined sharply with the second wave of COVID-19 cases and the partial lockdowns implemented in several states.

Wholesale volumes for the last month include 25,095 passenger vehicles (down 15% month-on-month) and 14,435 commercial vehicles (down 61% month-on-month), the company said in a statement today.

Tata Motors’ passenger vehicle wholesales stood at 29,654 units in March.

The domestic commercial vehicle (CVs) wholesales include 6,930 units of small commercial vehicles (cargo and pick up categories), 4,942 units of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (MHCVs), 2,013 units of intermediate and light commercial vehicles (ILCVs) and 550 passenger carriers.
