Shubman Gill may be ruled out of Test match against England due to injury

The Indian cricket team will now play a 5-match Test series against England after the World Test Championship. There will be some changes in the India team before the series, which is big news. It is speculated that the team’s opener Shubman Gill has been injured and may not be able to play the first match. The first Test between the two countries is to be played in Nottingham from 4 August.

The five-match series between India and England is starting from August 4. Before this match, the news of the injury of Team India’s young opener Shubman Gill is coming. According to the report of a cricket website, his injury is so serious that he may have to be out of the cricket field for the next one month. If reports are to be believed, Shubman has suffered a severe injury which can also be a hamstring.

Mayank Agarwal or KL Rahul can be given a chance in place of Shubman along with Rohit Sharma in the Nottingham Test. In the World Test Championship, Mayank had started the innings for the Indian team continuously with Rohit. On the Australia tour, Gill was given a chance to open the innings. Since then he opened with Rohit in England and then in the World Test Championship final.

The left-handed batsman from Haryana is garnering praise from all quarters for the way he’s finishing games regularly in the most exciting IPL season.

Gavaskar reckons Tewatia’s whirlwind knock in Sharjah (in IPL 2020) where he smashed West Indies pacer Sheldon Cottrell for five sixes in an over, gave him the confidence that he belongs to the big stage.

Speaking on Cricket Live on Star Sports, Gavaskar said, “That assault on Sheldon Cottrell in Sharjah gave him the belief to do the impossible and the confidence that he belongs here. We saw the impossible (he did with the bat) the other day as well. There’s no twitching or touching the pads (which shows a batter’s nervousness) when he bats in the death overs. He just waits for the ball to be delivered and plays his shots. He’s got all the shots in the book, but most importantly his temperament to stay cool in a crisis is brilliant.”

Gavaskar has also nicknamed the 28-year-old cricketer the ‘ice-man’ and lauded Tewatia’s ability to remain unruffled during the tense moments.
