Huge decline in Corona cases, below 40 thousand cases for the second consecutive day

The government has taken major steps in stabilizing the corona infection in India. Due to which the figures have improved a lot, for some time, about 40 thousand new cases were being reported every day, but according to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday morning, 38,079 new corona cases have come in the last 24 hours. Apart from this, 560 infected people have lost their lives. Earlier, 38,949 new cases were reported on Friday and 41,806 on Thursday.

However, 43,916 people have also been cured of corona in 24 hours. With this, the total number of people who have recovered from Corona so far has gone up to 3,02,27,792. The weekly infection rate remains below 5% and is currently at 2.10%. At present, 4 lakh 24 thousand people are still infected with corona in the country, who are undergoing treatment. These active cases are 1.36% of the total cases. A total of 4,13,091 people have died due to corona across the country so far. However, the good thing is that till now a total of 3 crore 2 lakh 27 thousand people have been cured. Since the beginning of the epidemic, three crore 10 lakh 64 thousand people have been infected.

Here, amid fears of the World Health Organization (WHO) knocking out the third wave of corona, the central government has said on Friday that the next 100-125 days will be critical in the war against Corona. NITI Aayog Member (Health) Dr. VK Paul said in a conversation with reporters on Friday that a large part of the country’s population is still vulnerable to corona infection. That is why doubts are repeatedly expressed about the third wave. He said that the cases of corona infection are increasing in the world and it has increased to more than five lakhs daily.

Covid toll in Karnataka is a worrying sign for state government

Even though Karnataka recorded the lowest number of Covid deaths in April since the virus struck first in 2020, the state is recording a rise in the positivity rate (1.50 per cent). Five people died from the Covid infections in April as per the statistics released by the state health department. In March, the positivity rate stood around 0.53 per cent. In the first week of April it came down to 0.38 per cent, second week registered 0.56 per cent, third week it rose to 0.79 per cent and by end of April the Covid positivity rate touched 1.19 per cent.
