“UP CM Yogi Adityanath will be the face of UP elections”: Dy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya

Yogi Adityanath, the current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, will be the chief ministerial face of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the next year’s assembly election, said Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya in an exclusive chat at the Panchayat Aaj Tak.

He said, “Our government under Yogi Adityanath is doing excellent work since 2017. The Opposition is issue-less. Our chief minister’s leadership has been excellent. I think he will continue to be our leader in the next election.”Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “Yogi Adityanath is the biggest name in our party in Uttar Pradesh. I believe the party will take a final decision and he will continue to be our leader.”

When asked about his “personal” choice for the chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming UP polls, Maurya said, “My personal choice was obvious in 2017. I was the UP BJP president in 2017 and Yogi Adityanath became the chief minister. My choice was very obvious. The entire party supported him.”

Pushed further whether there was a “problem” over the chief ministerial name, Maurya said, “There was no problem in the past. There is no problem right now and there will never be one in future.”

“The problem is in the Opposition camp. They try to create confusionWe won polls in 2014, 2017, and 2019, and we will win election in 2022 and 2024.”Maurya also dismissed the charge that there was anger among the people over alleged Covid-19 mismanagement in Uttar Pradesh. He said, “Uttar Pradesh has shown the best performance in country in handling Covid-19. Had there been a government under Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh or Rahul Gandhi at the Centre, it would have been a disaster.”

The court, generally, considers a person who commit a crime and the one who destroys the evidence, as criminals in the eyes of law. But what if an animal destroys the evidence of a crime committed by a human.

In a peculiar incident in Rajasthan, a monkey fled away with the evidence collected by the police in a murder case. The stolen evidence included the murder weapon (a blood-stained knife).

The incident came to light when the police appeared before the court and they had to provide the evidence in the hearing.

The hearing was about the crime which took place in September 2016, in which a person named Shashikant Sharma died at a primary health center under Chandwaji police station. After the body was found, the deceased’s relatives blocked the Jaipur-Delhi highway, demanding an inquiry into the matter.

Following the investigation, the police had arrested Rahul Kandera and Mohanlal Kandera, residents of Chandwaji in relation to the murder. But, when the time came to produce the evidence related to the case, it was found that the police had no evidence with them because a monkey had stolen it from them.

In the court, the police said that the knife, which was the primary evidence, was also taken by the monkey. The cops informed that the evidence of the case was kept in a bag, which was being taken to the court.

The evidence bag contained the knife and 15 other important evidences. However, due to the lack of space in the malkhana, a bag full of evidence was kept under a tree, which led to the incident.
