Good News! Bookings for MG Astor commences ahead of festival season

MG Motor India has now started accepting bookings for its newest offering, the Mg Astor. Prospective buyers can book the Astor online or at an MG dealership by paying a Rs 21,000 deposit. Deliveries of the first batch of bookings will be fulfilled in November and December 2021.

2021 MG Astor variants, features, Level 2 ADAS

The MG Astor is available in four variants – Style, Super, Smart and Sharp. The SUV is well equipped right from the base variant onwards, the Style trim packing LED headlamps and DRLs, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Andorid Auto/Apple Carplay, leather interior trim, auto AC, ESP, fog lamps, hill-descent control and keyless entry. The segment-first Level 2 ADAS is an option on the top Sharp variants and brings with it capabiities like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent headlamp control, rear drive assist and a speed assist system amongst others. Other feature highlights spread across variants are artificial leather upholstery, connected features with an AI assistant, 6-way adjustable seats, three steering modes, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, e-brake, heated ORVM, rain-sensing wipers, PM2.5 filter, front and rear armrests and a Bluetooth-operated digital key for locking/unlocking and starting the Astor.

2021 MG Astor engine, gearbox options

The 2021 MG Astor is offered with two petrol engines. The base engine available on all four variants is a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated motor making 110PS and 144 Nm. This pairs with a six-speed manual or an 8-step CVT from the Super variant onwards. The top engine is a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol that puts out 140PS and 220 Nm mated to a six-speed AT. This is seen on the top two Smart and Sharp trims and is fitted with a torque converter automatic only. Official ARAi mileage figures haven’t been revealed yet, but certain leaked internal documents suggets the 1.5 returns anywhwre between 14 – 15 kmpl for the manual and 10 to 12 kmpl for the CVT. The turbo can be expected to do 9 to 12 kmpl.

Improved version of Hyundai Creta launched in Indian market: Check it out here

Hyundai India launched the much-awaited Creta Knight Edition in the country at a starting price of Rs 13.51 lakh (ex-showroom, all-India). This new variant is available in both petrol and diesel engine options and can be had either with a manual or an automatic transmission unit. To read more about the Creta Knight Edition, click here. In addition to this, the company has also introduced a model-year update for the Hyundai Creta with new feature additions.

The 2022 Hyundai Creta is now available in a new Denim Blue colour option and the Highline TPMS is now standard across all variants. The SX (O) trim now also gets a glossy black centre console. Furthermore, the company will offer the iMT option on the 1.5-litre petrol ‘S’ variant to further expand choices for the customers. The new S+ variant powered by a 1.4-litre T-GDi petrol engine with 7DCT now gets an additional set of features, such as –

– Smart panoramic sunroof

– 16-inch black alloy wheels

– Smartphone wireless charger

– Rear Disc Brakes

– Electronic Stability Control (ESC)

– Vehicle Stability Management (VSM)

– Hill start assist control (HAC)

– Paddle shifters

– Metal pedals

– Electric and auto-folding ORVMs

– Power window auto up/down

Mechanically, the SUV continues to be powered by the existing petrol and diesel engine options.
